- I always wake up early. ⏰
- She usually eats breakfast at 8. 🍽️
- We often go to the gym. 🏋️
- ✅ If the verb is “to be”, the adverb goes after “am/is/are”.
- I am always happy. 😃
- They are often late. ⏳
🧩 Summary chart – Position of adverbs
| Type of sentence | Position of the adverb | Example |

| Verb “to be” (am/is/are) | After the verb “to be” | I am usually tired. 💤 |
❓ Basic doubts cleared up
- Does the adverb change position in questions?
➔ Yes, in questions we put it after the subject. (E.g. Do you always study at night? 🌙) - Can I use more than one adverb together?
➔ Better not! In English we use just one at a time to stay clear.
🚫 Common mistakes to avoid
- ❌ I drink always coffee. ➔ ✅ I always drink coffee.
- ❌ They never are late. (Careful: with “to be” the adverb goes AFTER “are”, not before it!)
- ❌ She usually is tired. ➔ ✅ She is usually tired.
