Nominalization & Academic Register (C1/C2)
| Registro Informale / Verbale ❌ | Registro Accademico / Nominalizzato ✅ |
|---|---|
| The economy grew rapidly last year because businesses invested more. | The rapid growth of the economy was driven by an increase in business investment. |
| Because the weather deteriorated suddenly, we cancelled the flight. | The sudden deterioration of weather conditions led to the cancellation of the flight. |
| She was reluctant to sign the contract because she was worried. | Her reluctance to sign the contract stemmed from financial concerns. |
⚙️ 2. Come costruirle
Per convertire frasi verbali dinamiche in eleganti strutture nominalizzate da livello C2, segui questi passaggi sintattici:
- Passaggio 1: Individua il verbo o l’aggettivo nucleare.
Esempio: “They analyzed the data thoroughly” ➔ “A thorough analysis of the data…”
Rimpiazza congiunzioni come because, since, as con verbi ad alta densità lessicale come result in, stem from, lead to, trigger, attribute to.
📚 3. Trasformazioni di Sostantivazione Avanzata
Coppie di trasformazione frequenti nei test Cambridge C1/C2:
| Forma Verbale / Aggettivale | Sostantivo Derivato | Struttura Formale Ricostruita |
|---|---|---|
| To implement (verbo) | Implementation | The implementation of new regulations… |
| To deteriorate (verbo) | Deterioration | The deterioration of relations… |
| To fail (verbo) | Failure | The company’s failure to comply… |
| Reluctant (aggettivo) | Reluctance | Her reluctance to participate… |
| Efficient (aggettivo) | Efficiency | An improvement in operational efficiency… |
🚫 Errori Comuni nei Test C1/C2
| Errore Frequente ❌ | Forma Corretta ✅ |
|---|---|
| The thorough analyze of the data showed errors. | The thorough analysis of the data showed errors. |
| Their grow rapid caused inflation. | Their rapid growth caused inflation. (L’avverbio ‘rapidly’ diventa l’aggettivo ‘rapid’ prima del sostantivo ‘growth’). |
| Because the failure of the system, we stopped. | Due to the failure of the system, we stopped. / The failure of the system led to a shutdown. (Un sostantivo richiede una preposizione come ‘due to’, non ‘because’). |
