🎓 How the scoring works
Careful: you get only one try per question! Prof. Meow Meow is a lost tourist. He will judge how precise your commands are. English doesn’t like useless words: if there is one preposition too many (e.g. Turn to left), the Prof’s GPS will crash!
1. Movement: The direct imperative ⚡
To give a road command in English, use the base verb with no subject. Don’t add prepositions translated word for word from your own language.
- ✅ To go forward: Go straight. (Don’t say “Go right” to mean straight!)
- ✅ To go left: Turn left.
- ❌ Serious mistake: Turn to left. (In English we don’t turn “to” the left, we just turn left.)
2. Position: Fixed Prepositions 🗝️
| What you want to say 💬 | Correct ✅ | Common mistake ❌ |
|---|---|---|
| It’s not far / It’s not far from… | It’s near / It’s near the bank | It’s near to… |
| It’s right beside something | It’s next to… | It’s attached to… |
| It’s on the other side of the street | It’s opposite… | It’s in front of… (Use opposite to say “on the other side of the street”) |
| Replying to “Thank you” | You’re welcome | Please (It means “please”, not “you’re welcome”!) |
