🎓 How scoring works
Prof. Meow Meow is your waiter. He will check not only whether people understand you, but also how polite you are. In English, asking for food or the bill with the wrong words can sound very rude. Focus on polite phrases!
1. The “I want” trap 🚫
The most common and “dangerous” mistake is saying “I want a coffee” in a restaurant. In English, it sounds like a bossy order from a dictator!
- ✅ Correct: I’d like a coffee, please. (a polite request)
- ✅ Correct: I’ll have the steak. (deciding what to order)
- ✅ Correct: Can I have some water? (asking for something)
- ❌ Avoid: I want a pizza / Give me the bill.
2. Essential Vocabulary 🍽️
| When to use it 💬 | Correct ✅ | Common mistake ❌ |
|---|---|---|
| Still / sparkling water | Still water / Sparkling water | Normal water / Gas water |
| The bill | The bill (UK) / The check (US) | The account |
| Paying by card | To pay by card | To pay with the card |
